Meet Our Deacon
Deacon John Ackermann was born in 1938 and raised on a farm in Cathlamet, Washington and attended Lower Columbia College in Longview, Washington. He worked as a supervisor for Reynolds Metals Cable Company, retiring in 1992 when the plant was shut down. John was appointed Lay Reader in 1972 and led Morning Prayer Services in St. James, Cathlamet, and Castle Rock churches. After being ordained Deacon in the Episcopal Church in 2003, he served at St. Stephens, Longview until retiring in 2010. The Bishop then persuaded him into accepting an appointment at All Saints and we have been grateful for his service ever since.
